The Bill was introduced into Victorian Parliament on 22 August 2014.  The Bill provides for repeal of the Cancer Act 1958 (Vic) and aims to establish a strategic policy framework to support efforts to reduce cancer incidence and death, as well as to enhance the wellbeing of cancer patients.  The Bill also provides for the deemed registration of the Anti-Cancer Council of Victoria as a company limited by guarantee under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth).
