The new Polish Presidency of the EU has published its programme for its six-month term. It says it will support and promote the early adoption of proposals aimed at improving financial markets regulation and oversight, the development of crisis management rules and implementation of measures to increase the integrity and transparency of the financial sector. It also plans to collaborate with the European Systemic Risk Board and European Supervisory Agencies. The programme also specifically discusses the need for financial sector taxation.
