A survey by Ceridian found that 58% of office workers would not complain about colleagues’ annoying habits. Although they don’t complain, 20% of those surveyed reported feeling stressed by colleagues excuses to avoid work, 21% by colleagues who throw tantrums and 9% by office gossip. Apparently whingers, loudmouths, people who slurp their tea and sneezers are also a source of irritation. The HSE estimates that stress related illness is responsible for the loss of £6.5m working days each year, costing British businesses £570m.
