The Treasury Committee has published its second report on the Banking Crisis, which concludes that some banks were authors of their own demise. The Committee identified many factors at the origin of the crisis, but noted the increased appetite for risk taking within banks and failure of the supervisory system supposed to protect against systemic risk. The report looks at the Government response to date and actions for the future.
