On April 7, 2015, the Brazilian National Telecommunications Agency (ANATEL) published a bid notice for granting the right to exploit a Brazilian satellite for transmission of telecommunication signals ("Exploitation Right"). Up to 4 sets of Exploitation Rights in respect of geostationary satellites will be granted for a period of 15 years, extendable only once.
The minimum bid for each Exploitation Right is R$27,094,271.64 (twenty-seven million, ninety-four thousand, two hundred seventy-one Reais and sixty-four centavos). During the public session for the opening, analysis and judgment of price bids, bidders will be able to present successive substitute proposals, the winner being the bidder offering the highest bid for the Exploitation Right.
The public session for receipt of the identification documents, qualification documents and price bids will be held on May 19, 2015, at 10 a.m., at the Mini-Auditorium of ANATEL, in Brasília, Federal District. On May 26, 2015, a public session for opening, analysis and judgment of price bids will be held at the same location.
The period for challenging the bid notice ends on April 17, 2015, while the requests for clarification can be submitted by the interested parties until April 29, 2015.
