In our newsflash detailing the Employment Law Changes for October 2009 we inadvertently quoted the incorrect Development Rate for the National Minimum Wage. The correct rate is £4.83 per hour.
Therefore the new National Minimum Wage hourly rates from 1st October 2009 are:-
- Standard Rate (for workers aged over 22) - £5.80 per hour
- Development Rate (for workers aged between 18 and 21) - £4.83 per hour
- Young Workers Rate (for workers aged 16 to 18 who are not apprentices) - £3.57 per hour
Employers will need to ensure that those with responsibility for administrating pay in their organisations are aware of the new National Minimum Wage Rates.
