The UK has introduced new statutory instruments, the Sudan (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2014 and the South Sudan (Sanctions) (Overseas Territories) Order 2014, which, with effect from 5 November 2014, bring the following UK Overseas Territories within the scope of UN Security Council sanctions imposed against Sudan and EU sanctions imposed against South Sudan respectively:

(1) Anguilla; (2) British Antarctic Territory; (3) British Indian Ocean Territory; (4) Cayman Islands; (5) Falkland Islands; (6) Montserrat; (7) Pitcairn, Henderson, Ducie and Oeno Islands; (8) St Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha; (9) South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands; and (10) the Sovereign Base Areas of Akrotiri and Dhekelia in the Island of Cyprus. The latter order also brought the Turks and Caicos Island and the British Virgin Islands within the scope of EU sanctions against South Sudan.
