UK asks ECOFIN to discuss beneficial ownership registries: The UK has addressed the members of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council (ECOFIN) on an amendment it has introduced to the Commission's proposals for the fourth Money Laundering Directive (MLD4). The amendment mandates the establishment of central registries of company beneficial ownership. The UK also encourages the Council to make those registries publicly accessible. Council publishes PAD compromise text: The Presidency of the Council has tabled a new compromise text on PAD. It includes a list of functions that a payment account will have to offer to fall within the scope of the Directive, and detail of the characteristics that the fee information documents and the statements of fees will have to meet.
