On 20 December 2012, the tax administration published a Ministerial reply in the Bulletin Officiel des Finances Publiques-Impôts, thus making it binding upon taxpayers. It states that the repurchase value of unsettled life insurance contracts underwritten with mutual funds is part of the assets of the community subject to inheritance laws under common law conditions.
