As reported previously, Gina McCarthy's nomination for administrator of the EPA was passed by the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee ("EPW") on May 16, 2013. The Senate will not hold a vote on McCarthy's nomination until after the Memorial Day recess.

Senator Roy Blunt (R-MO) stated on May 23 that he will continue to block a floor vote on McCarthy's nomination until concerns regarding a flood control project in Missouri are addressed. McCarthy and Blunt met on May 22, but were unable to resolve this issue.
