The Commission has adopted its 2016 Work Programme, reaffirming the commitment to the 10 political priorities of its political guidelines. The programme plans to deliver 23 key initiatives and 40 actions under its “REFIT” programme to review the quality of existing EU legislation. It will focus on implementing the Capital Markets Union proposals, and on reviewing financial services legislation generally, and the Prospectus Directive, the Financial Conglomerates Directive and the Regulations on European Venture Capital and Social Entrepreneurship Funds in particular.
