The Central Bank of Ireland statistics for Q1 2012 show further growth of Irish investment funds.
Asset levels in Irish funds have increased in value to €819.8 billion at the end of Q1 2012. This figure is up from €768.7 billion at the end of Q4 2011.
The data demonstrates that the vast majority (94%) of investments held in Irish funds are by non-Irish resident investors. Furthermore, the majority of assets which are owned by Irish funds are situated outside of Ireland.
Investment funds, for the purposes of this analysis, are divided into the following categories: Equity Funds, Bond Funds, Hedge Funds and Remaining Funds, each of which categories grew during this period.
