A day after House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said she would not place any timetable on the eight committees that wanted to review the Waxman-Markey climate change and energy legislation, she has changed her mind. Pelosi has now set a deadline of June 19th for the eight committees to take action on the legislation. The deadline suggests that the bill will be brought to the House floor before the end of the month. It may also lead one to think that she feels that she has enough votes for the legislation to pass the House.
