Chief Executive Notice no. 38/2017 made public that the Convention for the Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents, made in Hague on 5 October 1961, is now in effect between Macau SAR and the Republic of Chile since August 30, 2016.

Consequently, public documents executed in Macau SAR to be presented in Chile or vice-versa, do not require now diplomatic or consular legalization.

Given the intense cooperation and trade between Chile and China it is expected that this will further facilitate the trade taking place through Macau.
