The Ministry of Labor Affairs announced that Taiwan’s minimum monthly wage will be raised from NT$20,008 (approximately US$634.43) to NT$21,009 (approximately US$666.17), and the increase is expected to take effect on January 1, 2017. The minimum hourly wage was also raised from NT$120 (c. US$3.80) to NT$126 (c. US$3.99), effective on October 1, 2016. Further, such minimum hourly wage will be raised again from NT$126 (c. US$3.99) to NT$133 (c. US$4.21), and the increase is expected to take effect on January 1, 2017.
