The Export Control (Amendment) Order 2009 (SI 2009/1305)

This order, which amends the Export Control Order 2008 (SI 2008/3231) comes into force on the 16th of June 2009. The amending order provides a substitute text for ML9 of Schedule 2 which provides guidance on “vessels” of war, special naval equipment, accessories, components and other surface “vessels”. The amendment also widens the coverage of the order as it applies to weapons sights. Namibia and Angola have been added to the list of destinations in Part 4 of Schedule 4 where a license to leave will be needed for shipments of small arms and light weapons entering the UK en route to these destinations. Both have been identified as countries of concern for small arms and light weapons.
