What does this cover?
Following the informal agreement of the Council of the EU (the Council), the EU Parliament and the EU Commission on a compromise text of the GDPR on 17 December 2015, and the endorsement of the trilogue compromise texts by the Committee of Permanent Representatives on 18 December 2015, the Council has now confirmed its political agreement on the text of the GDPR at a Council meeting on 12 February 2016.
The next stage of the GDPR legislative process will involve a legal and linguistic review of the texts. These will then need to be formally adopted by the Council, before being sent to the EU Parliament for approval.
