The Norwegian competition authority (NCA) unconditionally cleared Live Nation's planned purchase of ticketing and marketing company Ticketmaster. The potential competition concerns investigated by the NCA were similar to those currently being considered by the UK competition authorities. Live Nation was asked to submit a ‘complete’ notification to the authority in May, but the regulator decided not to further intervene by issuing an intervention notice. The NGA found that "based on the facts gathered in the case, and given the vertical nature of the merger, the authority has concluded that there is not sufficient evidence to start a phase 2 investigation." The deal is still under review in the US and UK.
