The Panama Canal has announced the start of the prequalification process for those interested in participating as proponents in the tender for the design, construction, and execution of the water management system. This process aims to ensure water supply for both Canal operations and human consumption mainly for the provinces of Panama, Panama West, and Colón for the next 50 years.

The RFP terms has already been published and among the requirements for prequalification, to be carried out in November/2020, stakeholders should submit their financial and technical information together with a robust history of projects execution.

Once the prequalified have been chosen, the proposals are expected to be submitted by the end of next year.
