Two new Orders confirm the effective date for all remaining provisions of the Bribery Act to come into force as 1 July, and make consequential amendments to other legislation. The amendments include inserting a reference to sections 1 and 6 of the Bribery Act in the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2006 and the Utilities Contracts Regulations 2006 dealing with criteria for the rejection of economic operators. They also make commission of an offence under section 1, 2 or 6 of the Act an event for disqualification under the Electricity (Competitive Tenders for Offshore Transmission Licences) Regulations 2010.
