The UK Border Agency has today introduced a range of new premium and priority services for business visa applicants in China.
Priority 5-day Service – Extension of coverage
The 5 working day priority visa service is now available at the UK Border Agency’s visa application centres in Wuhan, Jinan, Shenyang, Chongqing and Chengdu.
Passport Passback (PPB)
The new passport passback service allows visa applicants to retain their passports whilst the UK Border Agency considers the UK visa application. This service is ideal for individuals who need to apply for a visa to another country or who wish to travel whilst their UK visa application is being processed.
VIP Mobile Visa Service
The new VIP Mobile Visa Service allows individuals to apply for a UK visa without the need to visit a visa application centre. It is currently only available in Beijing and Shanghai. The service will enable UK Border Agency staff to visit applicants at their place of work to collect the visa application and biometric information (finger scan and digital photograph).
Extension of Priority Visa Service to PBS Tier 2 Applications
The priority visa service was previously only available for visa applicants in the general visitor, business visitor and Approved Destination Status (ADS) group tour visitor categories. However, now applicants under Tier 2 of the points based system will also be eligible for the priority visa service. In addition, the priority service will also be available to Tier 2 dependents that make their application at the same time.
