Chile has announced efforts to regulate online gambling and igaming during 2021.
This new regulation will likely affect not only casinos but may also influence the growing industry of sports betting, e-sports and video games alike. All of these areas had a great growth cause by the pandemic and lack of official sports tournaments.
In 2019, casinos generated US$670.0m (£491.8m/€557.1m) in gross revenue in Chile.
Chile’s Ministry of Finance has announced that it will ramp up efforts to legalise online gambling in the country, with plans to introduce a bill to regulate igaming in the first quarter of the year.
