On March 25th, Bloomberg discussed a shareholder proposal submitted by John C. Harrington to Goldman Sachs suggesting that Goldman run for office. Citing the Supreme Court's Citizens United decision and the company's 2012 $6.39 million in political contributions, Harrington thought it expedient for the company to simply run for office.
