The QCA, or Quoted Companies Alliance, has published its Audit Committee Guide for small and mid-sized quoted companies. This replaces the 2009 version of the guide.
The QCA Audit Committee Guide for Small and Mid-Size Quoted Companies is designed to assist audit committee members to be effective in their roles, meeting the expectations of investors and complying with best regulatory best practice for small and mid-size quoted companies.
According to the QCA, the Audit Committee Guide for Small and Mid-Size Quoted Companies covers the operational aspects of the committee; the roles and responsibilities of those on the committee and those that work with the committee; the internal focus of the committee on risk management and internal control; the external focus of the committee on the corporate reporting cycle; and the audit committee report in the annual reports and accounts. The QCA is an independent not-for-profit organisation which represents small and mid-cap quoted companies in the UK outside the FTSE 350, including those on AIM and PLUS Markets.
