Duke Energy announced yesterday that it will not build any more coal-fired power plants unless they have the ability to capture and store carbon dioxide. This signals no more coal-fired plants in states like North and South Carolina, but leads for more potential gasification plants with CCS in the Midwest. Duke Energy Chief Executive Jim Rodgers said, "I'm not going to build another coal plant without carbon capture."
