Criminal Proceeds (Recovery) Act 2009 (Application to Casinos) Amendment Bill

This Bill would apply the civil forfeiture regime set out in the Criminal Proceeds Recovery Act 2009 (under which people are made to return the proceeds of crime they have directly or indirectly benefited from) to casinos, in acknowledgment of the special risks casinos pose in attracting, and benefiting from, criminal activity. The Bill would ensure that the proceeds of crime spent in, and laundered through, casinos are returned to those from who they have been stolen or acquired.

Employment Relations (Protection of Young Workers) Amendment Bill

This Bill would amend the Employment Relations Act 2000 to provide that all persons aged 16 and under who perform labour for remuneration in New Zealand are to be regarded as employees, with all the rights that such status confers.
