The Ministry of Energy, Tourism and Digital Agenda recently proposed a limit of 120 MHz as the maximum amount of spectrum frequency available to each operator. The frequencies, which have been bid for, will remain within the 3.4-3.8 GHz range (the main band for the implementation of 5G in the EU). The public auction of these frequencies is one of the steps of the 5G National Plan.
The proposal was open to public consultation until 14 March 2018 and we will keep you updated on any further developments.
The implementation of 5G is key to facilitate new services that will require faster mobile internet speeds and will boost the Internet of Things including the connected car, smart transport and the digitalization of rural areas.
