On 17 May 2011, the General Court dismissed appeals by Elf Aquitaine SA and its subsidiary Arkema France against a Commission decision that fined them for participation in an illegal price-fixing and market-sharing cartel in relation to sodium chlorate paper bleach. The General Court has held that the Commission was correct to presume that Elf Aquitaine had decisive influence of Arkema France such that it was liable for the infringement and the fine. Read more.
