Sempra Energy filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission December 10 for permission to build a liquefied natural gas export terminal on the Louisiana coast that would be capable of exporting 1.7 cu ft./day of domestically produced natural gas to international markets. The company is also awaiting an export license from the Department of Energy.
