The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) recently launched an image-search function for its free, public Global Brand Database, as a new feature supplementing the database’s other querying criteria, including Vienna Classification codes, brand-holder names, and country of origin.

The feature allows users of the database to upload an image to search for visually similar trademark and other brand-information records from among 4 million searchable images in 15 national and international collections. With the image-search function, users are able to see if a logo, trademark or other similar image is separately registered for use.
