The Ministry of the Interior announced that 4 regulations, including “Regulations Governing the Entry into Taiwan for People from Mainland China,” “Regulations Governing the Entry into Taiwan for Professional People from Mainland China for Professional Activity”, “Regulations Governing the Entry into Taiwan for People from Mainland China for Commercial Activity” and “Regulations Governing the Service Permit for People from Mainland China due to Personnel Transfer within Multinational Enterprises”, were merged into 1 unified regulation with the name of “Regulations Governing the Entry into Taiwan for People from Mainland China”, which took effect from January 1, 2014. In addition to consolidation of the regulations, the Ministry of the Interior also rearranged and categorized the reasons for Mainland Chinese to enter into Taiwan and allowed Mainland Chinese with civil court summons or notifications to apply for entry permit for the purpose of civil litigation.
