Under MiFID the Committee of European Securities Regulators (CESR) is responsible for publishing lists of shares admitted to trading on a regulated market, systematic internalisers, multilateral trading facilities, regulated markets and central counterparties.

On 3 July 2007 CESR published a database of shares admitted to trading on regulated markets together with a guidebook on market transparency calculations, and databases covering the four other lists on 1 November 2007.

On 17 December 2007 CESR published a Consultation Paper setting out proposals designed to improve the functioning of the databases. The Consultation Paper consults market participants in order to get their input regarding functions which should be added to the databases. Comments are invited by 21 January 2008. Based on the responses to the consultation, CESR will update the databases and publish new versions in March 2008.
