ESMA publishes FMI guidelines translations: ESMA has published translations into all EU languages of its Guidelines on the Principles for Financial Market Infrastructures (FMIs) in respect of Central Counterparties (CCPs). The purpose of the Guidelines is to check that assessments of CCPs under the EMIR framework are consistent with the Principles developed by the Committee on Payment and Settlement Systems and the International Organisation of Securities Commissions. The Guidelines apply from 4 September 2014 and Member States have until then to notify ESMA whether they intend to comply with them and if not, why not.
