The LPC is an independent body set up to advise the Government on the National Minimum Wage. In its 2012 report, the LPC has been asked to concentrate in particular on:
- the position of young workers in the labour market, including those carrying out internships;
- whether the National Minimum Wage regulations could be simplified and made easier to administer; and
- how businesses could be given greater clarity on future levels of the National Minimum Wage.
The LPC will report its findings by the end of February 2012
