On March 2, 2007, an English Court refused to grant an injunction that would have required Pfizer to continue supplying wholesalers in the UK. The case was prompted by Pfizer's decision to sell its products directly to pharmacies in the UK and use only one wholesaler (Unichem) as a 'logistics' service provider. Other UK wholesalers therefore were no longer directly supplied by Pfizer. They complained to the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) and, pending the OFT's decision, brought an unsuccessful action for interim relief. In parallel, the OFT recently informed the wholesalers that it was unlikely to rule in their favour.
