Charlie McCreevy has announced he plans to consult before the end of June on inconsistencies in application of the UCITS Directives which have come to light in the Madoff scandal. He is particularly concerned about liability of depositories. In principle, he wants to extend the strict proposals on depositories in the draft Alternative Investment Fund Managers Directive to UCITS managers also.
