EPA signed the final TSC A chemical data reporting (CDR) rule on August 1, 2011. The rule requires more frequent reporting of information on chemicals and the submission of new and updated information relating to potential chemical exposures, current production and volume, manufacturing site-related data and processing, and use-related data. The rule requires chemical manufacturers to submit the information through the Internet, using EPA’s electronic reporting tool. The rule revises the Inventory Update Reporting (IUR ) Rule under TSC A and changes its name to the CDR. Companies will be required to follow the new reporting requirements in the next data submission period, which will occur February 1 to June 30, 2012. The rule is effective 30 days after it is published in the Federal Register.
