The Government has opened consultation relating to the provision of 'multiple discrimination' claims as part of the Equality Bill. The consultation proposes that multiple discrimination claims could be brought in relation to only direct discrimination and could only concern two protected characteristics (age, disability, gender reassignment, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation).
Responses are to be received before 5 June 2009.
