The Jordanian Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (“MEMR”) has officially released instructions for the submission of Expressions of Interest (“EOIs”) as part of Stage 3 of the Direct Proposal Submission Process (the “Stage 3 Instructions”) (a copy of which can be obtained by clicking here). This forms part of the third round in the application process for developers wishing to be considered for solar photovoltaic projects in the Kingdom. The proposed projects will cover local electricity demand only and so will not involve the export of electricity outside Jordan. The anticipated size of each of the proposed solar PV projects will be 100MW.
The Stage 3 Instructions which have been issued by MEMR outline the application requirements, the process for the preparation and submission of EOIs, general instructions for submission as well as the requisite forms and other ancillary documents that will need to accompany each application to the Ministry, all of which must finalised and submitted both electronically and in hard copy form by no later than 12.00pm (Jordan time) on Thursday 10 April 2014.
