ESMA has updated its TS on the data reporting requirements under the European Market Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR). Since it created the original standards ESMA has issued a set of Q&As on elements of the reporting requirements. It has now included these in the 2013 standards alongside some other clarifications. The new standards include changes relating to:

  • clarifying data fields, including their description, format or both;
  • adapting existing fields to the reporting logic prescribed in existing Q&As or to reflect specific ways of populating them; and
  • introducing new fields and values to reflect market practice or other necessary regulatory requirements.

The Commission now has three months to approve the changes, and then the Council and EP have a chance to review them. (Source: ESMA Updates EMIR Data Reporting TS)
