The U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has opened a second NEXUS border-crossing card enrollment center in Niagara Falls, New York. The first center is located in Fort Erie, Ontario, Canada, adjacent to the Peace Bridge. The NEXUS program has to date enrolled approximately 225,000 U.S. and Canadian citizens, determined to be “low-risk” travelers, and granted them pre-approval to cross the U.S./Canadian border. Those with the NEXUS border-crossing card are able to use specially designated lanes at certain border crossings for quicker screening by U.S. and Canadian immigration officials.
