The Dutch Government has decided to invest 30 million euros in carbon capture and storage technology. Shell and a consortium led by GDF-Suez are the beneficiaries of the newly created fund. Shell will capture CO2 from its Pernis oil refinery and sequester it in depleted gas fields. The consortium will also capture the CO2 from DSM Agro’s ammonia plant and store it in a depleted coal mine in the Limber region.
