The government has confirmed (here) that it is pressing ahead with proposals to allow tribunals to pass details of whistleblowing tribunal claims submitted on or after 6 April 2010 to industry regulators, provided the claimant has consented to this on the ET1 claim form. Both parties will be informed where a copy of the ET1 or extracts from it have been passed on. The purpose is to enable the regulators to decide if the allegations should be further investigated. Inevitably it will provide an additional pressure point for claimants to use in negotiations.
