The European Parliament's Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON) published a draft report dated 9 November 2012 on the UCITS V legislative proposals. It sets out suggested amendments to the Commission's proposals (with explanations) covering remuneration policies, harmonising the EU sanctions regime, and including CRD reforms (maximum variable remuneration may not exceed 50% of total remuneration and at least 60% of variable compensation must be deferred), performance fees and provisions regarding whistle blowers.

The Presidency of the Council of the EU published a compromise proposal on UCITS V dated 16 November 2012.
