The House of Representatives voted to pass the America Gives More Act of 2014 on July 17, according to an article by Philanthropy Southwest.  With strong support from the nonprofit sector, a bipartisan super-majority successfully got the Act approved.

The Act is a collection of bills with a combination of five measures that will increase a number of giving incentives for charities, according to an article by The Nonprofit Times.

“This legislation is a big win for those who are served by the nonprofit community, which in one form or another, is much of the country,” Joanne Florino, senior vice president for public policy for The Philanthropy Roundtable, said in a statement according to The Nonprofit Times.
