The UK Border Agency's immigration, visa and nationality fee increases came into force on 1 October.

As previously reported on this site in September, if the current fees were to be maintained, the UKBA would be unable to recover its own costs, at a detriment to the UK taxpayer and those individuals benefiting from the UKBA's services. It was also the intention to align UK fees with those overseas while keeping them fair in order to continue to attract migrants to the UK.
