The Administrative Council for Economic Defense - CADE and the Brazilian Agency for Oil, Natural Gas and Biofuel (Agência Nacional de Petróleo, Gás Natural e Biocombustíveis – ANP) executed a technical cooperation agreement on April 3rd, 2013, during the 19th judgment session.

The Agreement, which term is of 5 years, aims to institute technical cooperation between CADE and ANP, enabling and improving the performance of each agency in its field of competence, monitoring the involved economic sectors.

Such cooperation will be accomplished through information exchange, reports, statistics, meetings, public agents exchange, among other tools, aiming the joint operation of the agencies.

CADE's President, Vinícius Marques de Carvalho, asserted that the partnership between CADE and ANP has contributed to the conclusion of the cases, in special clarifying the dynamics of the regulated sectors, such as, for instance, in the fuel cartel case, where ANP issued significant legal opinions.
