The USCIS has a webpage which provides tips to employers who will be filing H-1B petitions that are covered by the H-1B cap. There is information on how and where to file petitions, and an overview of the main errors that USCIS sees on applications. It is imperative that employers ensure that H-1B petitions are complete and correctly filed on April 1, 2008 (the first day that petitions for FY 2009 can be submitted) in order to have a chance at obtaining an H-1B, given that the H-1B cap will be reached on the first day. If the petition has errors or omissions, it may be rejected on that basis.
