At the start of January, Free filtered advertisements on the browser of its Freebox Revolution device, blocking some of them. Several advertisers and the ARCEP complained about it, on the ground of the net neutrality, leading Free to remove the adblockers. Free had been using the adblockers as a leverage on content providers, and mainly Google, to share the wealth generated by the ads, claiming that internet service providers are delivering the ad-content and should be remunerated as such.
