Following the implementation of the EC (Consumer Credit Agreements) Regulations 2010 last year, the Central Bank has reviewed the Consumer Protection Code so as to ensure that its provisions are in line with the maximum harmonisation principle of the EC Directive on credit agreements for consumers (Directive 2008/48/EC). Following this review, the Central Bank has issued a "Notice to Creditors" of the dis-application of certain requirements of the Consumer Protection Code to the provision of credit agreements that fall within the scope of the Regulations (available on the Central Bank website).
